Have been back from vacation for a week and things are starting to get back to normal. Now, if I can just find some time to put my stamp room back together. It is still a total mess!

I found out this weekend that a friend's Mother had passed away. I wanted something understated and really loved this beauty by Danielle. So I decided to CASE it. I ended up using a different flower stamp, but kept her idea of white embossing the image. Since I used the DSP as a base, rather than the plain white, I needed to change the ribbon to pop more, so decided to use the black matting throughout. The DSP I used is SU and was retired a few years ago.

Recipe:
Stamps: Endless Creations, SU
Papers: SU (Retired) DSP, Old Olive, Black cardstock
Inks: Versamark
Accessories/Tools: EP: Detail Clear and White, SU Circle Punches, Black Satin Ribbon (Michaels)

My friend's web site updates are in the final review stage. With any amount of luck, that project will be finished this week. I start an online class next Monday, but still hoping to find some time to learn Wordpress so that I can get this site back up and running, SOON! I'm starting to think it's about time I start playing the lottery. Last week I found out I won an award at work. This week I found out my name was picked in a work-related raffle to win an ipad 2! Somehow it just seems like I'm on a roll. Sort of curious to see what the 3rd surprise might turn out to be.

I made this birthday card for a co-worker. He's the most free-spirited person I have ever met. I can totally see him just taking off for the beach, letting his cares behind and just sitting under the umbrella chillaxing. The only thing he needs is a drink! I stamped the umbrella a second time on designer paper, cut out and then popped up. I used a thicker dot for bottom center to give the umbrella a more rounded look.

Recipe:
Stamps: Stampabilities, Penny Black
Papers: K & Company, My Mind's Eye, White, Poppy Parade cardstock
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black; Prismacolors w/Gamsol
Accessories/Tools: Flowers (K & Company), Nestabilities Dies, SU glitter

Sometimes, life just gets in the way of our best laid plans. In this case, my plans to have the site back up in blog format. I'd like to say I'm close, but I've really not had the chance to get started. So for now, I'll just update this page occasionally to feature a card I've been making.

My stash is in desperate need of some guy-appropriate birthday cards (OK, let's face it, my stash is is desperate need of all kinds of cards!). I had just finished up making some girl-y cards with this cute little pup and still had the stamp sitting on my stamp desk. So I set out to see what papers I might have to turn him into a quick card for the more manly crowd. I hit paydirt when I found an older DCWV stack (the Cafe Mediterranean) and some paw-print paper. After that, the card came together super quick.

Feel free to visit my Splitcoaststampers Gallery to view some of the cards I've made in the past year or so.
